ANy one has a plan for me to lose 30 lbs in less than 5 months ?? ( help please ) iam 16 year old girl..?

To do so you would need to lose 6 pounds in a month, or roughly lose 1.25 pounds in a week. I can not even describe how unhealthy this is for you. In general, losing more than about 1/2 pound a week is unhealthy.

If you are serious about losing weight then one of the first things you can cut out of your diet is any form of animal fat. This includes butter, milk, cream, etc. Going vegan is a great way of doing so. Do watch your carbohydrate intake while doing so, you can get most of your carbs through fruit and not bread or pasta. Cut out white flour all together, and go for whole grain pasta, bread and rice.

You also need to think about your metabolism. Your metabolism is not 100% reliant on genetics. In fact it isn't for the most part! A high metabolism is key to weight loss. Two things that help it are exercising and your eating habits.

Exercising is a no-brainer, you have to do it to lose that much weight. Hate to run? (ME TOO!) Then try biking or swimming. Do something aerobic...sweat a little every day. Walking is great for maintaining weight, but won't help you lose, you need to sweat!

Eating to keep up your metabolism takes a little bit of work. Essentially, our bodies need us to eat small portions, about what fits in your hands (which is incidentally the size of your stomach), and it needs us to do so every 3 hours or so. So, you should be eating smaller portions more often than 3 times a day...more like 5 times a day. You can probably get away with four, just make sure that you do eat breakfast, eat a healthy lunch, eat once you get home from school and then eat a healthy dinner. Don't eat too soon before going to sleep, as that will all just turn in to fat.

Try watching your calorie intake by calculating what you normally eat in a day. Use The Calorie Counter to do so: http://www.thecaloriecounter.com/

It may also be helpful to calculate how many calories you should be eating in a day: http://www.ahealthyme.com/topic/calneed

Since you're probably still living at home and mom or dad is cooking for you, talk to your parents about your desire to lose weight, because they can help you quite a bit. Try going to the grocery store with them, picking out healthy options and helping them cook healthy meals. You would really be surprised at how your cravings for certain foods go away once you eat healthy and start feeling healthy.

Btw, you *can not* "target" problem areas. However, weight lifting is a good idea. Muscle essentially burns fat, just by having it on your body, whereas fat, well...it is fat. I'm sure that your goal is to slim down to a certain size, and not necessarily weigh a certain weight. Don't worry if you gain a little weight at first from this either, as muscle does weigh more than fat does. Whenever I started cheerleading season I always gained about 5 lbs initially because I was gaining muscle mass, and then lost it all and another 5 pounds or so because it was helping me burn fat!

30 lbs. in 5 months? That's 6 lbs. a month, which is about 1.5 lbs. a week, which is feasible, but risky, especially for a teenage girl. You have to burn about 750 calories more than you intake every day to lose this weight. That means if you keep eating the same, assuming you're staying at a constant weight right now, you have to run at a decent pace (10 minute miles) for 40 minutes, or walk at a really fast pace for about an hour and a half extra a day. That's a lot of exercise.

The better way to go is to do a fun aerobic exercise everyday for 30 minutes, something you enjoy, that doesn't feel like exercise, so you keep it up; on top of this you'll want to have a calorie-cutting diet. I'll assume you've never taken a nutrition course and fill you in. Calories are found more in fatty foods, from mayo on your sandwich to the milk in your latte to the fat in fried food, and less in fruits and vegetables, because your body can't digest cellulose, and carbs have fewer calories per gram.

Dieting can be safe and healthy if you eat fortified foods, drink lots of water (it will fill you up so you don't have to eat as much to feel full); make sure you're not avoiding all fats, but limit them to a minimum, avoid sweets and candies, fried foods, almost anything from fast food restaurants, sugary soda drinks, and most sauces and dressings.

Just don't feel you have to lose weight, there are so many problems right now with young girls feeling like they have to be underweight, when they miss the whole point of losing weight and dieting in the first place. The main reason our society values young and skinny people is that they look healthy, so take care of yourself and eat healthy, exercise and get off the couch, and you can at least slowly revert from the couch-potato look that most diets want a quick fix to.
Reply:When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.

If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which

will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow

underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without

exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For

diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food

after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on

your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If

you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey

cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your

diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to

calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,

start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the

most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a

lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,

disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target

your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a

bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you

to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).
