Crap- I forgot about our one year wedding anniversary & now I only have 1 week to plan something- what do I do?

My husband and I are coming up on our one year wedding anniversary Saturday the 30th, and there's so much going on that I just completely forgot until now.

We have a three month old son so I was busy planning his first father's day.

Then right after father's day we are taking a three week long road trip across country so I've been reserving hotel rooms and making packing lists for that.

And the week we come back from our trip is my husband's birthday so I've been working on what to do for his birthday.

I'm sure I can get a babysitter for our son, no problem, my sister can watch him for a couple hours.

I love to cook and I'm constantly making his favorite foods, so "special dinners" just aren't special anymore.

And unfortunately I can't do any "sexy" surprises

I'm getting an IUD the day before our anniversary and the OBGYN (as well as several of my gal-pals) have all told me that I'll probably be too sore to have sex for a couple of days.

I want to do something nice...its just that I've already exhausted all of my creative energy planning his first father's day and this trip and his birthday

So any thoughts on what I can do or a gift I can give him would be greatly appreciated-

can't you plan something together, as it is a celebration for both of you? it sounds like you've done a lot of planning, maybe its his turn!
Reply:hmmn you can go out to eat since you have the internet i always search around town for nice resturant sif not i know a really easy dessert it french 2 cpd pf flour i stick of butter crumble tsp salt tbsp sugar with hand make a cirlce in the center of the dough pour a little bit of water plastic wrap frige, cut stems off splitt in 2 small ones can stay whole after you finish dough will probably be chilled enough role out no need to make perfect its suppose to be rustic put strawberrys in the middle bake for 20 min only need the dough to cook ...make his fav meal with it easy
Reply:After having kids any time alone is special! Why don't you just go some place nice for dinner and have an adult evening? Not much planning involved, it's actually much more fun for my husband and I when we don't plan something and just go where the moment takes us.

My 5 year anniversary is Friday, May 22 and my husband and I had always talked about going to back Daytona Beach and staying in the condo where we spent our honeymoon for our 5th anniversary...but I am nearly 8 months pregnant and traveling just is not something I want to do right now. Our kids would enjoy it but I wouldn't, so we are staying home. We do not have anything planned and probably won't plan anything. We do not do gifts for our anniversaries either, our gift to each other is each other...we always say that our love is enough of a gift. We have everything we could ever want anyway! I am sure we will end up with some time alone on our anniversary and that is enough for us!

But Happy Anniversary to you...a bit early! Enjoy whatever it is you end up doing! :)
