I am about to finish my year and one day of training on Beltane (good planning huh?) and I want to know what to do once I am done. I understand many wiccans don't follow this tradition, I'm sorry.
p.s. Please, please, PLEASE don't answer this if you just are trying to convert me to another religion, this is what I believe :(
What should a wiccan do after their year and one day of planning?
We recommend a minimum year and a day of study for people to really know what Wicca is and whether it's really what they are looking for. If you're sure of that, this would be a good time for a dedication ritual. However, it's not required, and you certainly shouldn't do so if you're still unsure. A dedication ritual doesn't make you a better Wiccan anymore than a baptism makes you a better Protestant.
By this point, you should be familiar with the common rituals, celebrations, and outlooks of Wiccans. If Wicca is for you, you should feel a desire to put those things to use. What you specifically do is up to you: different Wiccans find different things to be important to celebrate, and styles of effective ritual vary widely.
Reply:There are 2 choices. 1. you decide Wicca is for you, and do a permenant dedication ceremony for yourself, or 2. you decide you don't want to be Wiccan anymore, and try another path. The "year and a day" is a great practice, as it allows us time to decide.
Reply:Take a solitary walk in an old forest.
Reply:Dude, it's Beltaine. Do you need us to draw you a map?
;D
Have a happy one, and congratulations!
Reply:Congrats. (a) Throw a little party for friends and family. You deserve it. (b) Surely your teacher would be able to help you better than can we? Are you training without a teacher? (c) Contact a local open circle and see if they will include you in their rite. You know your stuff, so it should be easy to include you.
Added: Robert makes a good point. Justin, do you have a girlfriend? She can participate in ways I do not need to describe.
Reply:It would really depend on what "Tradition" you follow, and if you are a solitary or group practitioner.
A long walk in nature, at night with the moon and stars as witness might be nice. You might find something on your walk that has spiritual meaning, life a special shaped rock, or piece of wood, or animal that keeps pace with you.
Then go home, have a nice goblet of wine or cup of tea and journal your thoughts and feelings for that day.
Blessings.
Reply:Congratualtions!
While I can not answer your question as I am not Wiccan and do not follow the Wiccan stages program, I am so very happy that you have completed what is an important milestone for your spirituality!
Happy Beltane and I hope you have a wonderful ceremony as well as ritual!
Reply:Now you have to hunt down and kill a wolf with your bare hands and then you will be a man...or a woman...whichever.
EDIT: I see the Wiccans are just as humourless as those from other religions. When are we ever going to see a lighthearted religion?

Reply:Realize that you're a moron.
