Planning a one year old's first bithday!?
Why throw such a big party for a child who will never remember it? Better to save the money now for a big party in 15 years. Have a simple party with family. Such a big deal party is likely to tire the child out and make him or her cranky. It's best to limit the excitement.
Reply:My son had a huge 1st bday as well. I made his first birthday an ocean theme, it was kind of like Nemo, but since Nemo was kind of hard to find then we did all ocean critters. He did have a Nemo cake though. It was fun we had a little goldfish in a clear bowl at each table. A game the kids played was this little fishing game that had a prize on the bottom of the particular fish they caught. We made blue jello with those swedish fish in it. We served fish sticks and chicken nuggets to the kids. At the end of the party the kid with the closest bday to my son's won the fish centerpiece. His cake was one of those cupcake ones. They are cupcakes all put together to make the picture of the cake but instead of having to cut the cake you just had out cupcakes.
Reply:wow 100 people is a huge party. Well I'de probably hire a caterer and have the food provided for 100 people. Pick a theme and decorate accordingly. Your child will sure get loads of presents with that many people! I would make a gift registry somewhere so that he/she doesnt' get duplicate things. Good luck!
Reply:You could these for themes:
Wiggles
Elmo(Seasame Street)
Winnie the Pooh
It doesn't matter the one year old won't care. The birthday baby will be too over stimulated that they will probably be super cranky.
Honestly a one year old is not going to care what you do for their birthday. Heck you could give them a box and they would play with that all day.
Reply:yikes, is this party for you or the baby?
I year old children are not going to be able to handle a party like that for very long...they have very short little tempers. I would save it for when they can remember, enjoy it, and participate. That's the whole point right?
Reply:We are going to make a CD/DVD of high lights of her first year set to music and play it on the TV through out our little girls first birthday party. It's a great way to catch people up on the first year and show of all your pictures!
Have fun!
Reply:Candy Land theme. And make each table a different candy. Let her be like the lollipop princess or the snow queen!
Or
Princess theme wil Disney Princesses.
Color Themes...
Orange and Pink stripes or polka dots!
Have fun and Good Luck!
